A Dialogue on A Judicial Lens on Rise in Violence Against Women Cases: Challenges and Solutions organized at FJA Islamabad: A dialogue on A Judicial Lens on Rise in Violence Against Women Cases: Challenges and Solutions was organized at the Federal Judicial Academy on August 26, 2021. This dialogue was organized in collaboration with the UN Women- Pakistan to develop solutions to challenges that are causing a spike in the increased Violence against Women (VAW) cases in the country. A detailed discussion was conducted on the implementation of pro-women laws along with an analysis of the effective response of Bench and Bar. In the plenary discussion, the legal fraternity discussed key reasons that are leading to a rise in VAW cases. They also discussed challenges that women face in accessing justice in family courts. This one-day dialogue also identified recommendations and created solutions to enhance procedure that promotes speedy justice to women survivors of violence. Besides this, they also shed light on different milestones related to implementation of Ending Violence Against Women ( EVAW) laws from reporting to response. Ms Sharmeela Rasool, County Representative, UN Women-Pakistan gave her concluding remarks and Mr. Hayat Ali Shah, Director General, Federal Judicial Academy presented his vote of thanks.
