Muhammad Amir Munir is a career judge and judicial officer with 24 years' experience. As a researcher, he has published widely on different subjects of law and development, both at national and international levels. He is author of the book How to Prepare for Law Moots. His LLM thesis "Public Interest Litigation in Supreme Court of Pakistan" analyzes the role of the SCoP in establishing a human rights based approach (HRBA) towards interpretation of Fundamental Rights. He presented a paper on "Social Context Judicial Education" in a National Conference on Judicial Education, 2014 organized by the Punjab Judicial Academy. He was a Speaker in IOJT's 7th International Conference on the Training of Judges (Recife, Brazil, 8-12 November 2015) and a "Distinguished Speaker" for 8th IOJT Conference, Manila, Philippines.

In Law and Society Association (LSA) International Conference in Mexico City, read a paper "Judging in a Therapeutic Way" and became a panelist on "Responsive Judging". He has contributed a chapter to a book Responsive Judging published internationally by Springer in 2018. In 9th IOJT International Conference, Cape Town, South Africa (2019) he was as a Speaker / Panelist and presented his paper on "Dignity for Transgenders in Islamic Republic of Pakistan".

He is also a co-recipient of the first Jones-Hora International Judicial Award conferred by the International Society of Therapeutic Jurisprudence (ISTJ).

In 2009, he introduced first-of-its-kind Judicial Education Course Calendar at the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) in Islamabad. In 2014, he also conceived, designed and developed first-of-its-kind "General Training Program" (GTP) for the Punjab Judicial Academy. Recently, he pioneered in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) chat GPT-4 in his judgments as experiment to see the dynamics and power of AI tools for betterment of justice system and delivery of smart judgments. He was a Speaker on the topic of environmental laws and climate change in a "Workshop on Climate Change", an FJA / ICRC Pakistan collaboration. Most recently, he was a panelist on the topic "Environmental Justice and District Judiciary" in the "Climate Conference 2024" organized by the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan for judges across Pakistan. He is regularly teaching a subject on "Judgment Writing in Modern Context" focusing on inclusivity and litigant perspective. He was a notified judge of "Special Court" at Phalia for Gender-Based-Violence (GBV) cases under the Anti-Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act, 2021.
