EXPANDING JURISPRUDENCE FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS
The authors of the UN Women's study "Expanding the Jurisprudence for Women’s Rights" will discuss key findings, focusing on Superior Courts’ judgments in Pakistan related to rape, women's inheritance rights, domestic violence, and child marriages. Panelists will offer practical solutions, comparative analysis, and policy recommendations to address procedural gaps, safety net deficiencies, perceptional barriers, and the impact of gender-sensitive legal interpretations. They will focus insights from Nepal's judicial experiences, challenges and progress in Pakistan, a global perspective on gender justice, and a policy-oriented viewpoint on enhancing legal protections for women and children.
