Mr. M. Younas Khalid

Younas Khalid has over 26 years of experience in leadership positions and presently serving as Team Leader Rule of Law & Governance and Gender advisor at UN Women Pakistan. Earlier, he has worked in key positions with USAID, DFID and UNDP as Chief of Party and Team Leader. He is experienced in managing large scale development programmes with focus on governance, rule of law and gender and designed wide-ranging multi-sectoral, multi-layered and multi-dimensional programmes from legislative reforms to humanitarian work. Directly worked with governments, legislatures, judicial institutions, civil society organizations, communities, and private businesses. Along with holding senior organisational management positions, over the years led and advised large scale projects funded by multilateral and bilateral development partners. He is member Advisory Board and Finance Committee of HomeNet South Asia (HNSA) and contributed to create and strengthen country level HomeNets and Business Associations of Home-based workers (SABAH) with Trade Facilitation Centres in SAARC countries.

He is an international trainer on Gender and CEDAW and participated Pakistan's reporting on CEDAW, BPfA and UPR. And as a researcher, designed, and supervised more than 60 studies which provided evidence for gender programming, bringing in up-to-date learnings and insights from the field to identify strategic areas and putting in place a coherent and coordinated mechanisms for policy reform, programme design and identified development agenda to fulfil the needs of policy, planning and programming with bridging gap between development practitioners and academia.
